2.2 how to develop proposal for original media product

Improved pitch- Following potential questions that could be asked by A-line productions.

Circulation and readership.

Improved SWISH READER- I thought about potential questions that could come up during the conclusion at the end of the presentation, I felt that the target audience needed to adjusted to fit a new demographic

improved 2.0

Improved online content- I have thought about the questions that a-line productions could ask me and i felt that it was not clear enough with what the actual content that SWISH has to offer so curated a real example of what there is to offer and that we show what will be on the website and inside the magazine.

Improved 4.0.PNG

Improved Masthead and Brand-  The masthead and brand were lacking detail and were quite lackluster and needed to be explained in more detail following the questions that i feel would be asked by A-line productions I explained what types of that would be added both formal and non formal and how the app will look when it is developed to hopefully disallow any doubts that they have in the branding of this company.

Improved 3.0.PNG

2.3 My Pitch will include

TITLE IDEAS

These were the final four title choices with the chosen brand name SWISH I had decided to narrow it down to the final four I felt that they all connote the onomatopoeic term swish especially the third one I felt that showing A-line the different types of headlines we offer.

ABABABBABABA.JPG

I have a produced a colour swatch that shows all the possible house styles that can be for our magazine, I have decided to place it in the final power point to show to A-line the difference and iconic colour schemes.

Script

2.6 Plan to produce supporting materials for product description including

This leaflet is what I will hand out to the audience as it contains information about the pitch such as Profits, Market leader and general information about us and will fill any gaps I may miss.

2.7 how to plan and prepare a mini-presentation/pitch of a proposal for a new media product,

This is the script to my pitch:

Hi everyone, my names Joe and I am presenting the latest UK basketball magazine… SWISH

(First slide)

Who are swish? Well let me tell you swish are a upcoming basketball magazine. We will incorporate innovative designs into our magazine keeping it fresh for our target audience and visually appealing. We want to be renowned for diverse content, innovate ideas, interesting game reviews and up to date printed and digital content. A well respected American and European sports expert.

(Slide change)

Our rival Slam is one of the magazines that is a rival they are extremely popular with an annual circulation of 5.800.000 over a total of 3 different means. Print, Digital and social media. To compete with Slam we must embrace the more technological approach to our magazine. We believe we will be able to take the leadership role in the market.

(Slide change)

For our target audience we have curated the ideal persona for our magazine the SWISH reader per say. Josh Crawley who lives for basketball working at the local gym staying to play ball. He sees a lot of American basketball magazines and he really wishes there was a British alternative that he could source locally from his supermarket. Based on this we have created a demographic of:

AGE: 15-28

SOCIAL DEMOGRAPHIC: ABC1C2

GENDER: Male (83%)

(Slide change)

The USP what is unique to our magazine? There will be hidden barcodes that you can scan with the NBA 2K18™ app and you can receive free VC and exclusive SWISH Shirts and hats as well as there being hidden barcodes we will have an exclusive link to an hidden website with exclusive podcasts and interviews that have never been seen before. This new feature has never been done before and will always be one of the best techniques to keep our readers enticed until the end of the magazine. This is a positive as our rival magazines don’t have this kind of reader writer connection as we completely value our readers as well as our subscribers as they mean a lot to us and to show our compassion towards them we try to give out as much as we can.

(Slide change)

Swish online is a innovative website that offers an new perspective to online magazines as we will have an website that will offer closer looks into our issues past and present giving sneak peaks into our future issues people will be attracted to our website as it will have subscriber bonuses such as codes of discounts on our affiliated advertisers. Our website will also offer more articles that go into depth in ones that were less significant to be placed in the magazine people who view the website will be able to vote on who they think was the MVP of the month and who deservers to be the next cover star of SWISH.

(Slide change)

The masthead and branding was a key point with our creation of SWISH the colour scheme for my magazine will incorporate the colours of the basketball teams and the logo of the NBA will be essential to getting notice for our magazine. To keep our audience interested we will publish our magazine monthly to keep a fresh and exciting story arc every time our readers and subscribers pick up a copy our circulation will be an large amount due to the fact that they will always be anticipating our Fresh magazine.

(Slide change)

For print content ideas we will offer reviews on the league games giving our individual player opinions as well as never been read before interviews on various players including the best of the best. This shall appeal to all of our readers as everyone wants to improve and they all want to read about the pros and how the games went we will give an insight into this and let them read all about it.

(Slide change)

We have had a few ideas subscriptions like giving away free basketball merchandise such as jerseys, shoes, balls and other pieces of equipment this is a great way to get more subscribers as they will have exclusive perks as well. Also to add to the website we will offer exclusive interviews and sections only available for our website viewers increasing the amount of social media viewers by having a twitter and a Facebook page.

(Slide change)

This is our flagship semi- product a small section of both the magazine and the website will be devoted to ‘Kicks of the month’. A “Kick of the month” section on what is hot in the basketball community Polls on certain stories to see how our community feel about them. Integrating our subscribers and casual readers to form the SWISH community via the website will increase our currency if we give offers from our advertisements as an example Jordan maybe realising a new shoe so if we offer a small discount of 10% to our website viewers this will entice more of our magazine viewers to visit the website.

(Slide change)

The budgeting and costing was broken down into the initial expenses for my magazine are the printing and our writers and our journalist’s they may cost a lot but they may cost a significant amount of our money but there expertise will aide us in creating profit over a significant amount of time. The printing of our magazine will be expensive as well as the ink costs. It will cost us roughly £8,000,000 to fully print our magazine.

(Slide change)

We have decided to choose four different advertisements we choose: Jordan, Foot locker, Mitchell and ness, 2K games this was because they are all basketball related. Jordan because they are a very popular brand for basketball. With shoes clothes and balls they could help with our give away if we have them on board for a few small advertisements or even a double page spread if we can show them the right price. As footlocker are an supplier of various brands and designs of basketball shoes they offer the latest in all new shoes for off and on the court they would be able to show their offers and new shoes in a “Kicks of the month” in a spread this will help our circulation as footlocker are extremely popular. Mitchell and ness offer classic jerseys and apparel for all ages a great addition to our roster of advertisements we could charge them a reasonable price for a single or Double page spread. Being a brand of an expensive items deals and offers could be made for our subscribers. And 2K games are another ideal advertiser for SWISH as they produce NBA a extremely successful basketball video game and they could give us codes and different exclusives for us to give to the casual and subscribers.

(Slide change)

For legal reasons and to make sure nobody plagiarises from SWISH or anything associated with swish we will take all the needed legal requirements. To do this we will contact a lawyer and another legal consultant to ensure that all the components from our magazines are legal and not been copied. Afterwards if it is clear we haven’t got any assets that are claimed we can then apply for an copyright claim on said assets. This means if somebody takes our name or logo we are obliged to take legal action against them.

(Slide change)

So why swish?

Unlike our competitors we offer a vast amount of content for our readers we invest ourselves into who and why as we care. We try to be as helpful as possible with loads of tips and tricks and even videos on our website. SWISH is a superb magazine and will thrive in the basketball magazine community eventually we will be the NO.1 basketball magazine in the market
